Hey everyone – my daughter’s bedroom has been turned into a mermaid bedroom. It’s not very fancy as far as mermaids go but it is super cute and she loves it. It was also very easy to create! If you want to see it, keep reading :).
To lower costs, I used the same bed that I already had for her. Which can be a huge feature to a mermaid room. It is a bright yellow futon bunk bed. That may not seem like it works, but really the bunk bed looks like a big piece of coral. So it’s actually pretty cute and I bought some mermaid bedding for $35 at Walmart and found discounted “mermaid” pillows for the futon couch. I also found an adorable sea glass lamp for only $16 from Ross and put it on a night stand that I already had. Here is a picture;
When I set up her dresser, I found a cute mermaid statue, seashells, and some wall art. It was all super inexpensive and really cute. It was easy to put it all together as well.
I decided that I wanted her to have an art desk. I wanted to tie it into the mermaid/under the sea theme though. So I found an adorable whale shelf at Target to hang above her desk and put the art supplies in! I also made a couple of jelly fish for the corner. You can find a lot of tutorials for those on Pinterest!
Then I found some random décor items and an adorable mermaid laundry basket at ross to complete the look!
Here it is all put together;
The little girl is happy so mama is happy. Thanks for reading!
