Affordable Bug Out Bag Essentials

Here’s a list of bug out bag essentials. I’m only going to list items that affordable and I will even tell you where to get them!!

• First Aid – At the Dollar Tree there are lots of essential first aid items. This includes gauze, triple antibiotic, bandages, over the counter medicines and many more. The Dollar Tree also sells a personal mini first aid kit. Also make sure to include any medications that you’re going to need.
• Feminine Hygiene Products – At the Dollar Tree they have a variety pads, tampons and a few other things.
• Weapons – I suggest that you have at least one weapon in your pack. It can be a gun, knife, bow. Whatever you like. I have found that Amazon sells good bows and machetes at affordable prices.
• Emergency Tent and Sleeping bag – Amazon sells emergency tents and sleeping bags for nearly free. You can buy normal tents and sleeping bags as well but they will take more space and you will have more to carry.
• Food – I suggest things like Ramen noodles that are small, lightweight, high in calories, and don’t need to be cooked. In an SHTF situation, you may not be able to cook your food.
• Water – Take at least two liters of water to keep yourself hydrated when you’re on the run. You can buy water for cheap anywhere or fill up an old jug at home.
• Water Purification Tablets – Amazon also sells these for dirt cheap. Even if you take water, if you’re in the wilderness, you’re going to run out of clean water.
• Matches – Dollar Tree sells matches. You may need them for heat, sterilizing water, or for cooking food.
• Duct Tape – Duct tape can make or fix most anything. It can be found pretty much anywhere for cheap including the Dollar Tree.
• Change of Clothes – Take one or two changes of clothing with you. You never know what will happen. You can take clothes you already own.
• Emergency Poncho – These can also be found on Amazon for super cheap.
• Tinfoil – Dollar Tree also sells this. You may need to cook food with it once you run out of provisions. You can even take it out of the box so that you can fit more.
• Pocket Knife and Scissors – You can go wrong have these items on hand. They are just very handy. You can buy them from Walmart or Amazon for cheap.
• Flashlight and Extra Batteries – It might get dark. Make sure to take these. Dollar tree sells lots of reliable flashlights and batteries.
• Hygiene Items – This includes; hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, and wipes. You can buy them all from Dollar Tree.
• Survival Guide – This may save your life. Especially if you don’t know much about surviving in SHTF.
• All Purpose Tool or Small Tools – You may need a hammer or other tools to build shelters or whatever. The Dollar Tree sells lots of different tools.
• Notebook, Pencils, and Pencil Sharpener- You may want to or need to write things down. The Dollar Tree sells lots of these.
• Cash – It may hold no value but it may end up saving your life. You should already have some.

There may also be some items that you feel you can’t go without. Try looking at the Dollar Tree, checking on Amazon, or going to Walmart before you make any “expensive” purchases.
